Healing
ability of wood
When a seed finds its way to the ground,
only if all conditions are right, and against incredible odds in some
forests, a tree tenuously first secures itself into the ground with a single
root. From this miraculous point of birth, a wondrous spirit is born with a single
purpose: bringing healing to the earth.
Many of us have been blessed by the innate
healing abilities of a tree. We may have experienced it simply by sitting under
its canopy or taking a walk in the forest. For others, we have received an
energy treatment direct from the tree. Each tree species is assigned a specific
role in healing deep emotions, such as a willow to help relieve grief.
Wood is a living organism
entrusted to deliver deep healing to our world
either as a forest or as a useful, beautiful piece of furniture.

I believe a tree's ability to heal carries
on beyond its living state to its altered state when made into a piece of
furniture. As humans each time we sit in, or are in the company of, a fine piece of
furniture, we may not notice, but our inner self becomes rooted and is calmed.
It happens when, perhaps, during a moment of deep contemplation or despair, we
may find ourselves mindlessly stroking the arm of our favorite chair. The tree, under the guise of wooden furniture,
welcomes the opportunity to bond with humans and to continue its natural work of healing as it absorbs excess
human energies.
Growing up in a
house full of Quebec (pine) and Victorian (oak) furniture, I have
experienced how, in silence and gratitude, furniture becomes a large part of our
lasting memories, include the memories of smell.
Trees are one of the most benevolent
creatures of our world. They provide healing to our environment, give us beauty
to behold, provides us with shade and rafters for our homes.
Product
goal
The goal of every piece made
at carpediem healing creations.ca is to allow the original spirit and
healing abilities of the tree to continue to live on in piece created, to
rekindle the deep bond man has with tree, and to return to shared moments of
simple appreciation.
Types of wood
used
In honor of Tree, its
essence and individual gifts, wood from responsibility harvested foresting
practice is used, whenever possible. Reclaimed or rescued wood is also used, such as
"Juan" wood harvested after our hurricane Juan (in limited supply and
species). Windhorse Farm
in
Nova Scotia is our main wood supplier.
At times a project requires the
use of wood obtained from unknown sources. Special efforts are made to first
honor
the wisdom and thank the spirit of the tree that has come to the project
(thus lessening the impact of possibly been harvested by clear cutting) before
infusing the healing intention for the piece.
Spiritual aspects of
design
Each tree that has given
its life to a project is thanked and asked to share its wisdom. This wisdom may come forth
during the process of making
the piece and is relayed to the purchaser of
the product. Here again, my connection with Spirit and the exchange
of energy plays a vital
role in creating a final product with the intention of healing.
To insure that the vibrational
essence of the wood is maintained at the highest
possible level, few electrical machines are used in the building process,
and instead mainly hand tools are used. This allows for a closer bond and
connection with the wood, a deepening the inner beauty of the piece right
from the start of the project.
An energetic intention (or theme)
specific to the recipient piece is often held even before the wood is chosen
for the project. At the end of the production a personalized blessing, or energy
infusion, is added to the energy of the piece. This may come in many forms,
from prayer to the use of Lemurian Seed crystals, universal energy transfer or
ornamentally with carving or the application of a decal, such as sacred
geometry. This intended life-long blessing, along with that of the
qualities of the wood and tree of origin,
bind into a unique, one-of-a-kind, heirloom piece.
Other materials used in the
production (finishes available for those with environmental
sensitivities) are chosen to reinforce the overall intention of providing a
product that is made with intentionality, love and devotion to detail.
As a result the piece is not only lovely to look at and use, but it helps to raise the
vibration of your environment.
Finger
Labyrinths
Labyrinths are an ancient meditation tool
known for centuries for the healing benefits that come from walking
them. Similar benefits are realized when using finger
labyrinths. This allows those who are unable to walk to use a
labyrinth. Studies have shown that walking, or even
using a scaled down version in the form of a finger labyrinth, can help
improve communication between the right and left side of the brain and its
functioning, including people suffering from Alzheimer disease.
As all
products, they are made with the recipient in mind - by special order and
taking physical limitations into account.

labyrinth of your preference, including traditional designs of 3, 7 and 11 circuit
labyrinths such as this 7 Cretan circuit labyrinth shown on the
